How-to Speech (Click to download) Students will create a How-To poster with the steps to any process they choose! The students will present their posters in a how-to speech in front of the class. This project is creative and engaging for everyone! DUE January 25th. -Standards: 1.7 Use effective rate, volume, pitch, and tone and align nonverbal elements to sustain audience interest and attention. Acid Rain Essay (Click to download directions) Students will write a research essay on the causes, effects, and prevention of acid rain. Their science project with Ms. Relatores will relate to this topic as well. Students will be able to use resources from the essay for their science project. -Standards: 2.2 Write expository compositions (e.g., description, explanation, comparison and contrast, problem and solution): a. State the thesis or purpose. b. Explain the situation. c. Follow an organizational pattern appropriate to the type of composition. d. Offer persuasive evidence to validate arguments and conclusions as needed.
